1. What We Do

iRacing Index displays publicly available racing statistics from the iRacing online racing simulation service. We aggregate public race results, driver ratings, and series information to make them easier to browse and search.

2. Data We Collect

Racing Statistics (Public Data)

We store publicly available iRacing data including:

  • Driver display names and iRacing customer IDs
  • iRating, safety rating, and license class
  • Race results, finishing positions, and performance history
  • Country/region codes (as set in iRacing profiles)
  • Team names and memberships

This data is publicly available through the iRacing service and does not include email addresses, real names, or private contact information.

Analytics (EU Visitors: Consent Required)

For visitors in the European Union, European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom, we use Google Analytics (GA4) only after you provide consent via our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google.

For visitors outside these regions, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. GA4 collects anonymized usage data including pages visited, time on site, and general device/browser information.

Geo-Location

We use MaxMind's GeoLite2 database to determine the country of incoming requests. This is used to:

  • Block traffic from certain regions for security purposes
  • Determine whether to show the cookie consent banner (EU/EEA/UK visitors)

IP addresses are processed in memory for this purpose and are not stored in our database or logged.

Local Storage

We store your theme preference (light/dark mode) and cookie consent choice in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device.

For visitors subject to the GDPR, we process data under the following legal bases:

  • Legitimate interest — Displaying publicly available racing statistics and protecting the service from abuse (geo-blocking)
  • Consent — Analytics cookies are only set after you opt in via the cookie consent banner

5. Data Retention

Racing statistics are retained indefinitely as part of the historical record of public iRacing events. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove it within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

If you are an EU/EEA/UK resident, you have the right to:

  • Access your data — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data from our systems
  • Object — object to processing of your data
  • Withdraw consent — for analytics, you can withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the footer

7. Children's Privacy

This website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
